Every winter, rising living costs, cold temperatures and social isolation place enormous pressure on some of the most vulnerable people in our community. For many individuals and families across Oldham, the 25th of December can feel especially difficult—marked by loneliness, cold homes and uncertainty about where their next meal will come from.
This is why UKeff is proud to host its 12th Annual Winter Warm Hub on Thursday 25th December, 12pm–3pm, at our community centre on 72 Yorkshire Street, Oldham. What began over a decade ago as a small gesture of support has grown into a vital annual service offering warmth, dignity and connection to those who need it most.
A Safe Haven
The Winter Warm Hub provides a welcoming space for individuals and families who may otherwise spend the day alone or in hardship. Guests will receive:
-
A freshly prepared hot meal
-
A warm, safe environment
-
Friendly company and conversation
-
Small gifts, toiletries and essential winter items
For some attendees, this event is the only celebration or company they will experience. For others, it offers a moment of relief during a season that can be emotionally and financially overwhelming.

Why This Service Matters
Across Oldham, we continue to see increasing numbers of people facing economic hardship, fuel poverty, homelessness, poor mental health and isolation. The Winter Warm Hub offers more than food—it provides a moment of relief, human connection and hope.
For twelve years, this project has stood as a reminder that no one in our community should be left behind, especially during the coldest and most emotionally challenging time of year.
Thank You for Supporting Our Community
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who donates, volunteers or helps spread the word. Your kindness ensures we can continue offering this essential service year after year.
